MCForge Version 5.5.0.0 Released!
Posted by EricKilla On 2.20.12
Hello Everyone,
Today, I'd like to announce we have released MCForge 5.5.0.0.
First off, I'd like to say this isn't as big as some of our previous updates. An issue with our IRC Dll required us to speed up our release, and we didn't get a chance to add many features we planned to.
That said, we have (hopefully) resolved the situation with the IRC.
The biggest feature of this new release is the new Global Chat Control Panel. This allows us to more easily manage Global Chat, and makes it to where we don't have to mute entire servers because of one problem user. We also have added support for WoM Textures.
We are making significant progress on ForgeCraft. We should be able to maintain the previously stated release date of April 10, 2012.
Also we are making progress on the MCForge PC Remote Console, and are also preparing to release a new Android Remote Console (This time featuring a free version!)
We are aware of a number of quirky issues on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 that occur when you minimize the server to the taskbar then re-open it. We are investigating the cause of these issues and hope to address them in a future update. In the mean time, I advise you to NOT minimize MCForge. This applies to Windows 7 and/or Windows Server 2008 users ONLY.
Of course, some bugs may have slipped past us. If you encounter any issues, please report them to us in a kind manner. If possible, please give us logs, and explain the situation that caused the error. Keep in mind that oftentimes we have to be able to reproduce the error to fix it, and the more information you can give us, the better the chances are of us finding and fixing your bug.
Please, enjoy the update, and keep your eyes peeled for MCForge 5.6.0.0. We have a lot of cool things planned!
Happy Minecrafting!
Second SOPA Blackout
Posted by Lavoaster On 2.19.12
As you may have seen the 18th of February we went dark again.
However we did not plan to black out the site, the reason is that we still had some left over code which was used automate the site blackout and forgot to remove that code after.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
MCForge 5.5.0.0 Release Date!
Posted by EricKilla On 2.13.12
Hello Everyone,
We are announcing that we will release MCForge 5.5.0.0 on Sunday, February 19, 2012.
This update will replace the Sharkbite.Thresher.dll file, which is crucial for IRC and the server, with a new system that is not flagged by Anti-Virus systems.
Thank you for your patience while we work on fixing this serious issue.
We also will have numerous other features in MCForge 5.5.0.0, including a system which will make administration of Global Chat a lot easier and will make it so that we no longer have to mute servers, but can mute individual players instead.
ForgeServers and ALEA
Posted by BeMacized On 2.12.12
When we released ForgeServers a while back on the birthday of MCForge, it was actually way too early. ForgeServers wasn't done yet but we needed to have something.
In the last couple of weeks we have been redesigning ForgeServers.net, and its now back better than ever. New Video's, New Servers (currently the MCForge Official Server), New forums, and Most of all: New games. Thats right! We released our first game: ALEA.
ALEA is a dice game like yahtzee. You have to throw certain combinations with 5 dices to reach the highest score possible. Its a mix of luck and strategy, be sure to check it out!
You can all visit the new website at www.forgeservers.net
Sharkbite DLL Issue and ForgeCraft Alpha Release Date.
Posted by EricKilla On 2.9.12
Hello Everyone,
As many of you have noticed, the .dll file we use for our IRC systems (normal IRC and Global Chat) has recently started being flagged as a trojan by many anti-virus programs. This can cause the server to crash and not start up properly. It is NOT a Trojan/Virus. The file has been falsely identified.
We are working on a fix/workaround to this problem. It will be released in MCForge 5.5.0.0, which will be coming out in a few weeks. Here I will give you a small sneak peek of what is coming in 5.5.0.0: Numerous stability fixes, a Global Chat Control Panel which will make it so we can mute individual players instead of having to mute entire servers from Global Chat, WoM Texture support, a fix that allows the CLI to work in Windows, and much, much more.
Also, we have set the official release date for the first release of ForgeCraft on April 10, 2012 (Or earlier if possible). I know this may seem like it's a long time, and the fact that we've been working on ForgeCraft for so long. We apologize for this. We have been very busy lately, working on MCForge, dealing with family, school, and work, and trying to form ForgeWare Inc. Sadly, ForgeCraft got the short end of the stick and was rather neglected in this time. Also, we have decided to restart ForgeCraft based off SirCmpwn's LibMinecraft server software. Also, headdetect has resigned from his position as Head Developer of ForgeCraft, so we have appointed SirCmpwn to take his place (only fitting as we are using his software as a base).
The reason for the restart is we found original ForgeCraft was too sloppy and ineffective. The new ForgeCraft will be a significant improvement, with clean, optimized code and a significant reduction in resource usage from the original ForgeCraft. It will, however, retain the same functionality as was planned for the original ForgeCraft. This version of ForgeCraft will utilize SVN rather than Git, and will be licensed under the MIT License (A substantially more permissive license than the GNU General Public License v3 licensing we had on the original ForgeCraft.) If you feel that you can effectively continue work on the old ForgeCraft, feel free to fork the repo and code to your heart's content. We only ask you remain in compliance with our licensing.
We need Flash Developers and Artists!
Posted by EricKilla On 2.7.12
Hello Everyone,
I come today to state that ForgeWare Inc. is in need of talented Flash Programmers who are capable of making Flash games. We plan to use Flash games to raise some money to get our company moving, while developing larger games simultaneously.
We also are in need of artists to create graphics for a game we have being produced. If you are good with photoshop, or other computer-based photo editors, we may have use for you! Also we may consider musicians/sound editors.
If you feel you are qualified for either of the above, please send an application with the following information:
------------------------
Real Life Name:
Age:
Desired Position (Flash/Artist):
Other:
------------------------
Send the application to alawson@forgewareint.com. Also please attach a prior work (whether via download link or application). You need to submit me at least one flash game and/or two pieces of electronic art (It can be an image, a sound file, or a video file) made by you, or else we will not accept your application. I personally recommend using mediafire.com for your files.
Once you have sent your application you should recieve a repsonse within 3 days. If we feel you are worthy of joining we will send you an email inviting you to our dev chat where we will interview you as soon as possible. Please note the email that is replying to you may be cripplecowboycowoutfit@yahoo.com. Do not be alarmed, as this is my primary email.
I hope to see some submissions soon!

Domain Theft
Posted by Dmitchell94 On 2.6.12
Hello everyone,
After 48 hours of hard work the site is finally back online. Recently our domain name was stolen and sent to a fake MCStorm website. MCStorm was not involved in anyway as far as we can tell. UnXoft also helped us recover our GitHub which was also hacked into. However we have decided it prudent to change the GitHub to a new organization. After these recent attacks we are working hard to improve security and provide a better service to our users. We thank you for your patience while we were down and look forward to continued support from our community as we continue to develop MCForge.
We are working with GoDaddy and GitHub to investigate these attacks. We can not be certain who is to blame for these most recent attacks but we will have further information at later times. If you have information please feel free to contact us.
MCForge may have enemies and rivals but we will work through any and all attacks that may be launched on us. These attacks prove that we are not failing but that we are still a strong server software and that we continue to grow as a software and as a community.
Also, for custom command/plugin makers and contributors, our new github repository is http://www.github.com/ForgeWare-Inc/MCForge-Vanilla.
Thank YouDmitchell94New MCForge Moderator!

Hello Everyone,
As you are likely aware, MCForge Moderator JewwyBagel resigned from his position of both Moderator and MCRater Staff.
We have found a replacement for JewwyBagel's Moderator position: GameMakerGM. GameMakerGM has been in the community for a long time. He's been a very active MCForge Global Chat Moderator, and he was my choice to replace JewwyBagel, and was my second candidate for replacement of JacktheKat9.
Congratulations to GameMakerGM, and welcome to the team.

The despicable actions of those who hate us...
Posted by EricKilla On 1.27.12
Hello members of the MCForge Community,
Today, I announce that we have learned more about what happened the evening of Tuesday, January 24, 2011.
It appears that JacktheKat9 of MCStorm and Former ForgeWare Inc. Chief Legal Officer The_Legacy spent days upon days speaking with our good friends, MCForge Head Web Developer, 501st_Commander, ForgeWare Inc. Head Web Developer Soccer101nic, and ForgeWare Inc. Head Developer, GamezGalaxy. They convinced them there was no hope in ForgeWare, which is not the case, and discouraged them.
Then the whole explosion happened. We all had been having bad days before the whole meltdown that night, 501st included. He was dealing with his family yelling at him the whole day, and was dealing with stress the whole day. We all know that when we are extremely pressured we sometimes do things without thinking, that we regret doing later.
JacktheKat9 and The_Legacy managed to extract some information for an admin account utilized to import the forums posts and users from PhpBB to MyBB, named "MyAdmin", playing off the stress 501 was dealing with to make him, without thinking of the consequences, give out the password. JacktheKat9 and The_Legacy used this account to delete most of the information on the MCForge Forums, as well as all news posts. They also banned Dmitchell94, myself, and 501st_Commander.
Today, I recieved logs from JacktheKat9 that indicated that Jack intended to use the threat of telling ForgeWare Inc. Administration Staff what happened, with the intentions of coercing 501st_Commander to leave MCForge. You can see the skype logs here.
501st_Commander was left with an extreme feeling of guilt after what happened on Tuesday and he decided to tell the ForgeWare Inc. Administration team what happened, before JacktheKat9 got the chance. We have forgiven 501st_Commander for his actions.
However, we have NOT forgiven JacktheKat9 and The_Legacy for what they have done. I post this here with the intention of telling the world what they have done, and to completely ruin their plan of blackmailing 501st_Commander. Do not take any anger you may have out on 501st_Commander, instead take it out on JacktheKat9 and The_Legacy.
MCStorm appears to have been a motivating reason for these attacks. We are not sure if MCStorm was responsible, and hope that we can maintain a cordial relationship with the server software.
We at ForgeWare will take a week long break from development to brainstorm, to recover from the events of the past week, and to regroup. We are not collapsing.

Attacked by The_Legacy
Posted by Dmitchell94 On 1.25.12
Hello everyone,
We were just attacked by none other then The_Legacy. By using an old account with an old password The_Legacy was able to gain access and lock most of the staff members out. After finally gaining access back and reveiwing the IP logs we were able to match the ip of the attacker to the IP of The_Legacy. All staff have been locked out of the site and forums deleted. We are slowly restoring access and trying to restore the site. The_Legacy also deleted our backups of the site making the recovery proccess harder.
Please work with us as we try to restore all parts of the site

Forgeware Needs Flash Programmers and Artists!
Posted by EricKilla On 1.24.12
Hello Everyone,
Today I am proud to announce a few new plans from ForgeWare Inc. We have decided to get the ball rolling and have begun production on a multi-platform run-and-jump game. While we have the code end done, we do not have the artistic talent in ForgeWare to make the game look nice. We need people who are proficient with Adobe Photoshop (and/or other photo editors).
Also, we have decided to produce some Flash games which we will put on sites like NewGrounds, Kongregate, and Armor Games. We intend to embed advertisements in these flash games which will supply us with some supplemental income while we work on large projects. If you are good with Flash, please consider joining us. We will compensate you with the money made from the games.
If you feel you are qualified for either position, please email me at alawson@forgewareint.com. Please enclose a link to a previous work, whether it be a piece of art you have made or a flash game/animation you have created.
Thank you,
EricKilla,

ForgeCraft Head Developer
Posted by Dmitchell94 On 1.21.12
I am proud to announce that ForgeCraft has a new Head Developer. Headdetect will now serve as the official Head Developer of ForgeCraft. ForgeCraft development has improved and we can hope to see a stable release within a month or two.
The Loss of one Moderator and the appointment of a new one.
Posted by EricKilla On 1.20.12
Hello everyone,
Today I regretfully announce that our friend and fellow moderator JacktheKat9 has decided to resign from his position of MCForge Moderator. The circumstances behind this decision are not clear, but it would appear that he has had some issues with the community as a whole. We at ForgeWare wish him luck with his future and thank him for being a friend, and being a quality moderator.
To fill the void formed by Jack's resignation, we have appointed Aeries Freebuild Co-Server Owner and Global Chat Moderator Alecdent as the new MCForge Moderator.
Congratulations Alec!
Also, please do not apply or ask for MCForge Moderator. If you do you will do nothing but prevent yourself from getting Mod. We select our Mods personally. We pick people we feel are quality community members who are fair and just, kind and caring, friendly and genial. Generally we select from the community personally. People who ask for Mod generally lack most of the above stated qualities, thus forth we will not accept applications or people who ask. This includes Global Chat mod as well.
New Site
Posted by 501st_commander On 1.19.12
Welcome to the new site!
There are many changes to this version of the site. The forums are now the main login for the hole site, better layout, and in my opinion gives you more information. Changes are still yet to come, including a features page, new contact form, and a page for the compleate list of MCForge, ForgeCraft and Web Developers.
You can now Rate Downloads, whichs helps both us (devs) and the user to pick the best download in the list. Also, you can "comment" on MC-Rater items, without leaving a rating that affects the server.
The dev list on the main page is currently incomplete, due to the new format of the user and group handling functions. When the dev(s) login to the site, they will be added.
If you find any bugs, issues, or something that just doesnt look right, please contact me containing the URL to the page, and what you where doing there (if applicable).
Unfortunately, I was unable to save news comments, because of the change in the user ids on the site, and it would take hours to do it manually, which, I dont think anyone would want to do. But the good news is, you can now "Like" comments.
I hope you guys like this new site, it should be a LOT better than the old one.
-501st_commander
P.S. The users aaron3238, strk7 and sven358 need to register their accounts to get proper credit on the Lava Survival Maps.

MCForge 5.4.0.4 Released
Posted by gamezgalaxy On 1.11.12
Hello Everyone,
Today we have released MCForge 5.4.0.4, the last of the bug fix updates based on 5.4.0.0. This update features complete fixes for CPU spikes, Physics issues, and reduced RAM usage.
Next update, we will be releasing a fancy looking GUI which will be redone with multile color styles. Also we will add support for WoM Textures.
That, and much more.
Enjoy!
Warning: The "Auto Physics on Doors" plugin is incompatible with this update. The plugin will break ALL commands except for /pass and /setpass. We strongly advise disabling this plugin when using this update.
Also, if anyone was wondering, to fix "water loops" just type /map randomflow to turn Random Flow off.
We need devs for Forgecraft!
Posted by EricKilla On 1.5.12
Hello everyone,
As many of you have noticed, very little appears to be going on with Forgecraft. It's about time that we kick it up a gear and get Forgecraft moving faster. While we can, and will, shift people from MCForge to Forgecraft and put incentives for providing better work for Forgecraft, we still must keep a team for MCForge, and we must have people ready for any future Forgeware Inc. Projects. This leaves us in a bit of a pickle; quite simply, we need more people. But we don't need your normal guy who's learning how to code C#. We need quality, experienced, skilled developers. So please, if you're just learning how to code C#, don't apply. We can't afford to teach you how to code, we need people who already can.
If you feel you are up for the challenge, I want you to submit an application to this email: apply@forgewareint.com.
Here is the Application Template:
First and Last Name:
Minecraft Username (If applicable):
Apptx. how long have you coded C#:
List any other programming languages you know:
We will ask you to provide some prior work, whether it be school assignments, programs, etc... This can be substituted by creating us a program (whatever you want it to be) that we will then evaluate for its quality.
Again, we only want people who know what they are doing.
PLEASE NOTE THIS APPLICATION IS NOT FOR MCFORGE! DO NOT APPLY FOR MCFORGE DEV HERE! THIS IS ONLY FOR FORGECRAFT!
We advise you get familarized with Forgecraft's code while you wait for us to process your applications. You can find our source code repository here: http://www.github.com/mcforge/Forgecraft
We hope to see applications soon!

MCForge 5.4.0.1 Released!
Posted by EricKilla On 12.31.11
Hello Everyone,
Today I am proud to announce the release of MCForge 5.4.0.0 (and subsequently 5.4.0.1). It's been a while since our last release, for which we apologize, but, being it was the holiday season, many of our developers were on vacation.
This release contains numerous new features including a TNT Wars game mode and a new Review system. We have also made improvements to memory and CPU usage, and made /cuboid and other similar commands create less lag. A complete list of changes can be seen here: http://www.mcforge.net/change_log
I am also happy to announce that work on the MCForge PC Remote Console is coming along nicely, and we hope to release it soon.
A few bugs may have slipped by our testing, so if you encounter a bug, please report it nicely and we will attempt to fix it. You are welcome to download and build MCForge as it is in development, our source code repo is here: http://www.github.com/mcforge/MCForge-Vanilla/
Thank you, and have a Happy New Year.
EricKilla,

UPDATE: We have released MCForge 5.4.0.1. This is in response to an issue where SQLite users who auto-updated their servers didnt' download a vital .dll file that was necessary for the proper function of SQLite. We have updated with a new version that will download the dll if it is not present. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Help needed ForgeServers.net
Posted by BeMacized On 12.11.11
Hi.
I'm currently leading the ForgeServers.net project. ForgeServers will be the integration of BeMacizedGaming (http://www.bemacizedgaming.com/ <-- outdated) with ForgeWare, but bigger. Were running a youtube channel and some servers and we make vids about minecraft. pretty standard.
Were currently trying to get some servers so we already got some at launch. I will be hosting 1 or 2 MineCraft 1.0 servers myself. When those are done i will need an operator team to run those servers. But what is ForgeServers without an MCForge server? Yes, were planning on running one but theres 1 problem... we have no host.
Were currently searching for someone who can host our MCForge server for free since we do not have a very high budget. If your interested please leave a comment on the forums with the specifications of the computer you can offer + your internet speed.

Minecraft 1.0
Posted by 501st_commander On 11.28.11
For those who wonder when MCForge will be ready for 1.0. ITS NOT. MCForge is for Minecraft Classic (0.30) and will NOT be compatible with 1.0. Forgecraft, the Minecraft software for 1.0, is not ready, and you need to be patient and wait. It will come when its ready to.
Thank you.
